‘From Corn Exchange to Spiegeltent’

These photographs were taken during Herbie Flowers’ Jazz Breakfast concerts at Brighton’s Dome Corn Exchange and Spiegeltent, between January and May, 2013. The exhibition captures the atmosphere of the concerts and portrays the musicians playing with Herbie today.

Herbie Flowers is one of the most popular and sought-after session bass players in Britain. Best known for his work on Lou Reed’s Walk On The Wild Side, he also worked for David Bowie, Marc Bolan and Paul McCartney and was a founding member of the classical rock group Sky.

‘In early 2013 I had a conversation with Herbie about his life in the music business,’ says Kris. ‘It turned out that 2013 marked his 60th year as a professional musician. We came up with the idea of documenting one or two of his concerts with photographs. The one or two shows turned into a two-year project, which is still ongoing.’

The Making of Olah

Over the past couple of months,I have been working on a project documenting the making of an acoustic guitar by Sussex luthier,Ian Chisholm. The guitar is now finished and handed over to it's new owner,John Fowler of the Halo Project.

I now have the task of editing all the stills/video - and look forward to showing this work during Ditchling Artists Open Houses in May 2015.
